Effect of Work Safety and Health Training on Knowledge Levels and Risk of Work Accidents

Abstract


Cases of work accidents that occur in Indonesia are increasing and are classified as high dueto the negligence and carelessness of workers. Many problems regarding OHS arise from the weakness of management in carrying out OHS properly and correctly as well as the low level of awareness ofworkers on the importance of OHS implementation, and there is no OHS training to develop workers' knowledge and awareness about OHS. So from the need to research on OHS training. OHS training canbe done with a variety of methods, one of which is through socialization. The purpose of this study was to determine whether the effect of occupational safety and health training on workers' knowledgeand the risk of accidents. The study was a quantitative observational study and a cross-sectional study design. Research data were obtained by distributing questionnaires to workers in various sectors ofthe company. The results of the analysis found that OHS training has a negative relationship with the risk of workplace accidents, where more OHS training increases the risk of work accidents on workers.Therefore, OHStraining is needed for workers to increase workers' knowledge about OHS and reduce the risk of work accidents.
